LIVID

For years, we were silenced by the chains of fear.

Our voices were stifled so our cries will not be heard.

We were choked with lies and made not to believe in ourselves.

For years we thought we were too young to rule, and we gladly accepted the title of being unfit.

For years we were called leaders of tomorrow, but tomorrow became today and we have never led.

We drowned in our silence, the river of lies and corruption overwhelmed us.

We have been deafened by the cries of our beloved brothers and sisters, killed by the bullet that swore to protect us, their blood crying for justice.

Our leaders have become our tormentors.

The labours of our heroes past are now in vain.

Our National Anthem have become chants with no meaning.

Our ultimate dream is to leave the country we call home.

We saw our mothers strip themselves naked, lamenting for their children that was bitterly slain.

Our only mistake was being a youth in Nigeria.

Now we have seen the light.

The chains of fear has been broken.

We refuse to be silent.

We will fight for our rights that was trampled upon.

We will fight for our brothers and sisters that were brutally killed.

We will fight till our death.

We will show them that we were never cowards, we are survivors.

We have been silent enough, our voices must be heard.

We will fight for the future generation.

We will fight for the tears of our mothers.

We will fight for a better tomorrow.

We will fight for all the lies we had to forcefully believe.

We will fight for a better Nigeria, were we can walk freely without the fear of being killed because of the type of hair we keep, the type of car we drive, or the phones we use.

We will fight because we are goal getters, we are self made, we are independent, ambitious. And if these are the attributes if a lazy Nigerian youth, then I am proud to be called a lazy Nigerian youth.

We are the lazy Nigerian youth,

Pioneers of a better tomorrow .✊🏾
